WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE AT THE TASTE FESTIVAL?

The organizers of the 2014 “Taste the Limestone Coast Festival” would like to invite community members, groups and organisations to have their say on what the festival should be like.

Naracoorte Lions Club took on the operation of the festival for 2011 when it was offered by the Naracoorte Lucindale Business and Tourism Association and they have run three very successful festivals since then. Lions decided to revitalize the festival and refocus it as a true community event that was a celebration of the excellent quality of life that we enjoy in this region.  Fine local foods, fine local wines and excellent local entertainment were the foundations for the festival.  It was also planned to be a “family friendly” festival with a children’s program to cater for their needs while allowing their parents to enjoy the festival.  This has largely been achieved, with the 2013 Taste Festival being named as Naracoorte’s “Event of the Year”.

In a partnership with the Naracoorte Racing Club, Naracoorte Golf Club, Naracoorte North Kindergarten and the Limestone Coast Farmers and Makers Market, the events on this successful festival weekend have much to offer local people and visitors alike.  There is no room for complacency, however.  The organizing committee feel that there is always room for the festival to grow and to improve.

Festival Chairman Lion Derek Blackwell said “We have achieved many of our aims, but we would like to give the community a chance to share their views and to participate if they wish. We welcome new ideas and suggestions.”

Individuals, clubs, businesses and organizations that have an interest in the 2014 Taste Festival and beyond are invited to share their ideas in an informal get – together over a coffee at “Sweet Espresso” on Sunday 22nd September at 2pm.  For further information please contact Derek on 0418 897 122.
